    Description

Up for consideration a vintage wall plate in solid copper with the Chile Naval Coat of arms in the center of the
9 1/2" embossed, hammered copper plate.
The age of the plaque is unknown.  To better understand the Regal looking center artwork here is some info regarding Chile's Coat of Arms:
    The
    coat of arms of Chile
dates from 1834 and was designed by the English artist Charles Wood Taylor
(1792–1856). It is made up by a figurative background divided in two equal parts. A five pointed star is in the center of the shield. This background is supported in one side by a
    condor
, the most significant bird of prey of the Andes
, and in the other, by a Huemul,
a mammal endemic to Chile. Both animals wear gold Naval Crowns. which
symbolize  The heroic deeds of the
    C
    hilean Navy
    in the Pacific Ocean.
