scarce Ericson Comb bevel square Nice tool Patented April 12 1898

For sale is an unusual maybe  scarce Ericson Comb Bevel square Patented April 12 1898. It is as found and in good used condition. It is as found and un-cleaned. It does have some minor surface rust and  corrosion. It will need a lite cleaning. A good amount of the original  nickel plating remains . I do not know what the other functions of this tool is. I can not find any information on this tool  and I can not find any information on the patent of this tool. Any information will be appreciated.  The blade is a 10'' blade and it is straight. There is nothing broken or repaired, The tail end of the tool has an unusual shape or design. ( see picture 11)    Please see all pictures for condition. Ask questions before you bid.
