NEW ORLEANS 1884-85 INDUSTRIAL & COTTON EXPOSITION SOUVENIR BALE LACEY'S GEM

Very rare souvenir bale of cotton from the 1884-1885 cotton exposition. This bale was advertising for Lacey's Gem in New Orleans which, as far as I have found, was a cigar store. There is no lid for the box which is in remarkable shape considering age and material. Box is stamped with an image and "LACEY'S GEM NEW ORLEANS, LA". The miniature bale is wrapped pink satin or silk, hand stitched and wrapped with wire that is covered with what look like copper straps. The front of the bale is stamped "EXPOSITION SOUVENIR, N.O. 1884-1885"

Condition
- Please take a moment to closely look over photos. Very good condition considering age. Box has rip on back about half way down. Pink satin/silk is faded likely from being on display as the fade goes from the printed side to the back.
